History

February 2001 Advance Leaning Center was launched as a tutoring and educational assessment service.  Upon closure of the Western Oklahoma State’s preschool and child development lab in July of 2002, Advance Learning added a PreK program for 4-year olds.  The following year the learning center added a 3-year old program and the year after that added Kindergarten.

Due to the community’s desire for a private Christian school, a group of interested individuals completed a feasibility study and determined to found a school.  A Board of Directors was formed and incorporated Altus Christian Academy as a not-for-profit organization June of 2006.  Initially, ACA offered PreK, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades.  Today ACA offers PreK 3, PreK 4, and Kindergarten through the 8th grade.  Enrollment has grown from 16 students the first year as Advance Learning Center to 158 currently.

Advance Learning Center began in a 1,500 square foot building, then moved to a 5,000 square foot facility as Altus Christian Academy expanded.  During the 2012-2013 school year ACA moved to the current campus with initially 17,000 square feet in the main building and now over 31,000 square feet of climate controlled indoor space.  ACA’s campus now includes the main elementary building, a middle school across the street, and a gymnasium.  ACA is positioned for expansion and our future is exciting.
